Type Locality and Naming

Palk Strait (between Sri Lanka and India); composite of Wells Delft, PalkBay and Pesalai.

Lithology and Thickness

Limestone and marl. Ca. 400 m (Delft well) to 250 m (PalkBay well) of limestone (especially upper part) and calcareous claystone (especially lower part).

Conformable on PalkStrait Oligocene Fm
